Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) is approximately 30 kilometers (19 miles) east of downtown Bangkok. The journey typically takes 30-45 minutes by taxi or private transfer, depending on traffic conditions, or about 30 minutes via the Airport Rail Link.

Bangkok has an extensive public transport system including the BTS Skytrain and MRT subway, which are the fastest ways to avoid traffic. For short distances, Tuk-tuks are a fun cultural experience, while Grab (ride-hailing app) is convenient for door-to-door travel.

Many nationalities can enter Thailand under the Visa Exemption scheme for tourism purposes (typically for 30 days). However, entry requirements change, so it is essential to check the latest regulations with the Thai Embassy or your airline before departing.

The cool and dry season from November to February is considered the best time to visit Bangkok, with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 30°C. The hot season runs from March to May, and the rainy season is from June to October.

It is generally recommended that tourists do not drink tap water in Bangkok. Bottled water is cheap and readily available at convenience stores like 7-Eleven, which are found on nearly every street corner.
